Gary (played by Kim Dunn) is a mall security guard who has had some runins with the Boys, especially Bubbles, whose cart operation frequently interferes with Gary's duties. He also employed Julian for a while before firing him and having police called on him for shoplifting and theft over $1000.
He has a smoking problem and has been to an ashram multiple times to no avail.

Gary first appears as a mall manager who stops Ricky and Julian from stealing car stereos. Ricky is able to fast talk his way out of trouble by playing on Gary's stress and the fact that he is trying to quit smoking. ("What In The Fuck Happened To Our Trailer Park?")
Later, Gary becomes Ricky's manager when Ricky also becomes a mall cop in an attempt to make money and 'get back with Lucy. He is once again duped, by Julian this time, when he is led to believe that Ricky is stealing car stereos from the parking lot. In reality, Julian planted the car stereo there in order to get Ricky fired.
Gary makes a brief appearance as a liquor store manager who witnesses a drunk Jim Lahey accidentally foil a robbery at his store. ("The Delusions Of Officer Jim Lahey")
Some time later, Gary is back at the mall as a security guard, haranguing Bubbles for stealing carts from the parking lot. In response to this, Julian goes to the mall and accosts Gary and his security team, holding them at gunpoint while commanding them to throw a bunch of carts into the gully for Bubbles to collect. In season 12, Gary hires Julian as a security guard at the mall, this is short lived however as Julian is caught stealing things and has to testify against Gary in court.
