Randy gets fired, and Ricky is hired to replace him. In the course of his duties he interferes with Julian's bootlegging operation.

Plot Synopsis Edit

Teaser Edit

Bubbles, Randy and Mr. Lahey attempt to extract one of Bubble's Kitties who is trapped inside a drain. When Barb arrives on scene, Bubbles blames Randy for leaving the lid off all weekend, and Randy and Jim get chewed out by her. Randy beaks off to her and gets suspended as Weekend Trailer Park Supervisor for three weeks.

Act One Edit

Ricky, having spent all his Freedom 35 earnings, tries to borrow money from Julian but all the rest of his money is tied up at the moment. He offers to hire Ricky to work for him. The current operation involves J-Roc who is bringing in a boatload of bootleg vodka they plan to sell around the park. Julian is financing the buy. Ricky has misgivings and instead visits Lahey in his trailer to formally apply for Randy's old job. Randy tries to get Ricky out of the trailer, thinking he is just playing games, but Lahey takes Ricky seriously and tells him to show up the next morning for the aptitude test. After Ricky leaves, Randy protests, but Lahey tells him 'it could be fun'.

The next day at the local bank, Julian withdraws the $10,000 from his account, while the candidates for the assistant supervisor job -- Bubbles, Cory, Trevor, Ricky and Jacob Collins write a written exam. The next test is to collect the most trash by weight. Ricky wins this by collecting a discarded muffler and Lahey is surprised. Lahey then gives each candidate five minutes to fix a lawnmower with an undisclosed problem.

Julian tests the vodka at the local docks and they do the deal. Julian brings the vodka back to the park and tells J-Roc that if Lahey finds out about the operation, it's going to be all on him. Meanwhile, Cory and Trevor bow out of the aptitude test in frustration, leaving Ricky to win the lawnmower event also. Jim is starting to get worried.

Barb arrives on the testing ground while Jim tallies the final points. He is mortified to learn that Ricky has performed the best and Barb officially announces he has the job. Bubbles pouts and blames his bad eyes for preventing him from doing better in life. Ricky and Lahey grudgingly shake hands and part company until the following morning. Randy looks on jealously.

Act Two Edit

Lahey finds Ricky sleeping in and rouses him. He gives Ricky the official supervisor uniform and says that he will be subject to a three-strike system after which he will be fired. He's already used up one strike for being late on his first day. Julian starts delivering and selling the vodka.

While driving around the park, Ricky earns his second strike by smoking outside of a break. Jim then gives Ricky 15 minutes to clean up some trash and dog-do in the street. Randy goes for a trim at Sarah and Lucy's hair salon and finds out that he gets a free 40 of vodka with his deal. He suspects that Julian is behind it somehow.

Lahey sends Ricky to the lake to drag out all the discarded bicycles that have ended up there over the years. Julian loads up Trevor and Cory with vodka and sends them out to sell it. He instructs them to report to J-Roc to protect himself from involvement in the operation. At the lake, Lahey and Ricky find Bubbles fully clothed in the water, extracting shopping carts. Lahey orders him out, and Ricky gets to work.

Later on, Lahey calls Ricky over to view Trevor and Cory selling vodka, and tells him to handle the arrest. Ricky apprehends the boys to find out who is running the operation, but they say it is their own idea. Ricky pours out their vodka. Ricky lets the two boys go so they can lead him to the real ringleader. Lahey originally objects to Ricky's decision, but finally agrees to the logic and sends Ricky out to give Bubbles a ticket for driving his go-cart around the park.

Ricky does so and Bubbles is understandably upset, since Ricky was the one who bought the go-cart for him. Back with Lahey, Ricky's loyalties are tested as Jim gives him Randy's walkie-talkie and sendshim to Julian's to find out if he is bootlegging. Ricky confronts Julian and Bubbles and Julian admits his guilt. Julian tells Ricky he is losing it and leaves. Randy discovers Lahey hiding in the bushes watching the scene, and wants to tell him something importan. Before he can, he gets upset that Ricky is using his personal walkie, and then leaves to spy on Ricky in his new position.

A few minutes later, Jim notices that Ricky has been exposed to poison ivy and tells him to take the shirt off. Inside Julian's trailer, where he is telling Randy that he is not a bootlegger, Bubbles sees Jim disrobing Ricky and calls them over to witness it. Randy is clearly upset by what he sees and leaves.

Act Three Edit

Just in case the police are brought in, Julian decides to empty all the vodka bottles into a plastic pool and pretend it's water. Randy chases down Jim and Ricky in the car to announce that he has witnessed Julian bootlegging. Ricky says it's probably Cory and Trevor. Randy accuses Ricky of lying and they get into a fight. Jim calls in Officer George Green.

The cops descend upon Julian and his team. However, the police cannot find any evidence of bootlegging or even any vodka on the premises. Jim tells George that Julian was probably tipped off and poured it down the drain. George isn't buying it and leaves. Jim fires Ricky, suspecting that Ricky lied to him about his knowledge of the bootlegging operation. Ricky tosses his walkie into Julian's pool in disgust. Randy attacks Ricky for this and they both wrestle until they fall in the pool, breaking it and spilling vodka everywhere.

Later, they squeeze the booze out of their clothes, and Bubbles comes up with an idea. They aren't getting anywhere with the big operations, and instead suggests a series of low key crimes with smaller payoffs but done more frequently. In this way, the risk of more serious charges and longer jail times is minimal. They all agree that this is a good idea.

BackgroundEdit

  • Thanks largely to Ricky, the boys once again are completely broke (save for Bubbles, who's money is otherwise spent on taking care of the cats)

Rickyisms Edit

Ricky pronounces 'khaki' as kahaykee at the aptitude test. Bubbles corrects him. Randy also suggests he go home, and Ricky tells him to get some hyposuction.

Ricky's Knock Knock Jokes Edit

  • Ricky: Where are you getting the booze?
  • Cory: Nowhere, man. That shit's ours. We do that shit on our own.
  • Ricky: Knock Knock.
  • Trevor: Who's there?
  • Ricky: Two stupid idiots who aren't smart enough to be doing this on their own.

  • Ricky: Knock Knock, Julian.
  • Bubbles: Who's there, Ricky?
  • Ricky: A bootlegger. A bootlegger in this park and I hope it's not you, Julian, 'cause that would be putting me in an awkwardly situation, wouldn't it?

Lahey's Misquotes Edit

NOTE: This one is also a Rickyism. Lahey's original quote is supposed to be tempus fugit, which is latin for 'time flees'. But they both get it wrong. Lahey also quotes a Thomas Gray poem, "Ode on a Distant Prospect of Eton College".

  • Lahey: You got one minute, Ricky. Tempest fugget.
  • Ricky: Can't you see that I'm in the middle of something? What the fuck does tempus fuck it mean?'
  • Lahey: Ignorance is bliss, Rick. When 'tis folly to be wise. (leaves)
  • Ricky: .... Fuck off.
